grAIn Hub hosts first full-day gathering at UTS
The ARC Research Hub for Responsible AI in a Sustainable Grain Industry (grAIn Hub) welcomed research and industry leaders to the University of Technology Sydney on 21 August 2026 for its first full-day gathering.
The event followed the Hub’s commencement on 1 August 2026 and brought together Professor Chengdao Li, Research Lead of the Murdoch University node and a member of the Hub leadership team, with the UTS team.
Discussions focused on research priorities and collaboration opportunities for delivering practical impact across Australia’s grain industry. The Hub connects research nodes at UTS, Murdoch University and Adelaide University with industry partners across Australia.
The Hub also welcomed Mr Gesheng Shen, Managing Director of WHG Oceania, for discussions on project collaboration. Participants visited Associate Professor Negin Shariati’s Radio Frequency and Communication Technologies Research Laboratory at UTS to explore its research capabilities and potential areas for future collaboration.
The gathering marked an important early milestone for the Hub as it begins building the partnerships and interdisciplinary research needed to advance responsible AI solutions for a more productive, sustainable and resilient grain industry.
